Forged in 1977 from farmers’ determination to resist large corporations snapping up assets in the farming sector. Today, Ravensdown exists to enable smarter farming for a better New Zealand. As a farmer-owned co-operative, our products, expertise and technology help farmers reduce environmental impacts and optimise value from the land. Whether it’s food grown for livestock or for humans, we are an integral part of the food creation process. We are the only co-operative on the planet that tests for, advises about, buys, ships, stores, spreads, measures and maps food-creating nutrients and fertiliser in a truly integrated way. We also provide products and services in environmental mitigation, agronomy and animal health sectors. From scientists to sales staff, engineers to IT experts, the diverse team is focused on a common goal: to enable smarter farming for a better New Zealand by delivering quality agri-products, technologies and services. HortNZ is a levy funded organisation representing and advocating for the interests of over 4,300 commercial fruit and vegetable growers across New Zealand. While advocating for growers, we influence policy and support innovation across the sector. We have 20 affiliated product groups and more than 30 affiliated local and regional grower associations. We have staff based in our central Wellington office and in growing regions throughout New Zealand.
