Nous Engineering Information

We are engineers. We are seismic experts. We are Angelenos. And we love what we do. NOUS Engineering is a culturally-focused engineering firm based in Los Angeles and working across the world, and founded by Elizabeth Mahlow, Matthew Melnyk, and Omar Garza. Since our earliest days, we have worked on projects ranging from Coachella installations to museums to retail flagships for Khaite; have undertaken rigorous adaptive reuse projects with partners like Bestor Architecture; and have provided engineering services for significant national projects like MASS’s National Memorial for Peace and Justice, Chapman University's Hilbert Museum of Art, and a series of Altadena and Pacific Palisades fire rebuilds. Our focused group of engineers, designers, and modelers stay on the cutting edge of new technologies: new collaboration tools, Building Information Modeling platforms, or advanced analytical softwares. We are known for our capacity to manage projects big and small, for coming up with elegant and unconventional solutions, and for consistently delivering high-touch creativity, dedication, and knowledge.
