The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) leads the fight to protect children by creating vital services for them and the people who keep them safe. Every child deserves a safe childhood.
Since 1984, NCMEC has served as the national clearinghouse and resource center for families, victims, private organizations, law enforcement and the public on issues relating to missing and sexually exploited children.
Named after the North Star, a historical symbol of freedom, Polaris works to reshape the systems that make sex and labor trafficking possible and profitable in North America. For more than a decade, Polaris has assisted thousands of victims and survivors through the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline and built the largest known U.S. data set on the crime. With the guidance of survivors, and working with public and private-sector partners, we use that data to understand and improve the way trafficking is identified, how victims and survivors are assisted, and how we can prevent this abuse at the scale of the problem - 25 million people worldwide robbed of the basic right to choose how they live and work.
Our vision is the end of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less.
Founded in 2002, Love146 is an international human rights organization that journeys alongside children impacted by trafficking today, and prevents the trafficking of children tomorrow.
The trafficking of children will end when our collective expectations of what is possible, what is just, and what is effective have been reoriented. We believe that making the world a safe place for children is only possible through a bold, broad vision that cannot be achieved by only one organization or approach. At Love146, we connect the dots to understand how vulnerability operates in the lives of children, and intervene both to care for survivors who have been harmed and ultimately to prevent harm from happening in the first place. Our work is achieved through the power of relationships and collaboration, listening to those with lived experience and diverse backgrounds, scaling proven practices, and challenging the systems that leave children vulnerable. Our core commitment is to do what is best for children.
We join courageous young survivors in the fight to end trafficking. They teach us that it takes love. Love opens our eyes, love gives us the courage to pursue justice, and love continually reminds us to be more human. Why is the organization named “Love146”?
