The Norwalk Gamer Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2016 by Bryan Doyle, former conductor for the Gamer Symphony Orchestra at the University of Maryland. Bryan wanted to bring his love for orchestrated arrangements of video game music to his local community. His vision was threefold: He wanted to foster an appreciation for video game music as an important cultural art form. He wanted to use that appreciation to promote and propel local musicians to improve their skills and come together collectively and collaboratively in ways that they may not otherwise. He wanted to spark an interest of music performance within the community, and extend that interest into meaningful social interactions with the community at large. As of spring 2018, the Norwalk GSO has performed at a number of local community events, and continues to grow and develop. Since we are a community organization, we are constantly seeking new members of all age ranges who are willing to work hard and have fun playing music.
