Northwest Physiotherapy Group Information

Northwest Physiotherapy Group was first established as Essendon and Moonee Ponds Physiotherapy Clinic in 1990. On 20th of April, 2009 the clinic was relocated to Level 6, 641 Mt Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds from its previous location on the same road closer to Buckley Street and the new name was founded, also including the Roxburgh Park clinic. The Roxburgh Park arm of the business was sold in October, 2013 to another Physiotherapy group to consolidate the business, allowing the principals to focus on the main Moonee Ponds practice. The two principal physiotherapists Russell Visser and Graham Nelson are experienced physiotherapists. Russell was team physiotherapist for AFL club Footscray from 1988 to 1996 and Graham has a Masters in Manipulative Therapy. They have developed close links with local doctors, specialists, sporting clubs and gyms. The clinic has a 'hands on approach' to treatment, a systematic whole body assessment protocol and a strong bias toward an active participation by the client in injury recovery. Treatment is based on careful and thorough assessment and our physiotherapists participate in continuing education both external and in-house to maintain the highest standards of treatment. We communicate with other health professionals and have excellent referral links with sports doctors, specialists such as orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and rheumatologists, podiatrists and personal trainers.
