The Northeastern University Chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, SEDS, is a student group on campus which offers students the opportunity to indulge in their passion for space by conducting capstone level research and design before their senior year. We are made up of over 200 students in the colleges of Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Business, Social Studies, Art and Design, and Humanities. The Northeastern chapter of SEDS was founded in Fall of 2018. We are the only group on campus that works in both a professional and social environment focusing on space exploration and technologies. This year, we have 6 active project teams. NU Rover, SUITS (Spacesuit User Interface Technologies for Students), NEST (Networked Exploration Swarm Toolkit), and Lunabotics are each preparing for and competing in their respective annual NASA competitions. The Astronomy team is a new community for all those passionate for space to learn more. Lastly, the Business team is the backbone to SEDS, with members working hard on outreach, operations, and club finances.
