Calista Primary School is an exceptional educational institution that caters for all students' academic, physical and social needs. Students develop intrinsic self-esteem and self-worth through social development and academic achievement. At Calista, every child matters every day and all children can be high achievers. All decisions made by the school and staff are in the interest of improving student outcomes. The best educational opportunities for children arise from open, accountable and honest communication which is a shared responsibility between the staff, parents, children, and the local community. We believe children learn best when: Their social, emotional, physical and learning needs are catered for and they feel safe, valued and supported by the school community. The learning environment is relevant, purposeful, engaging and inclusive. Behavioural guidelines are fair, consistent and established using a whole school approach. Staff are motivated, skilled and supported by colleagues, parents and administration. Home and school have a commonly understood purpose and share responsibility for the children's actions, attitudes, and well-being. 22-50 Harlow Road, Calista WA 6167

South Coogee Primary School is an asthma friendly school. It is also a Waterwise school with a strong focus on environmental responsibility. Our regular breakfast club provides a healthy breakfast for students while also developing social skills. We also provide out of school care. The school has a chaplain to provide additional pastoral care for students, staff and parents. Parent surveys convey a very high degree of satisfaction in the school's learning programs, its operation and organisation. The School Board plays an important role in school development planning processes and comprehensive monitoring of finances and school performance. There is an active P&C Association which encourages all parents to contribute to school resources and to belong to our community. Parents are kept informed about the school through electronic newsletters, the website, the school app and class based communication such as Connect. Our school is located approximately 13kms south of Fremantle. School buildings are modern and the school grounds are attractive with a range of challenging playground equipment. Classrooms are spacious and designed to promote collaborative teaching and learning practices. The school is well resourced and all our students use a range of digital equipment, iPads, computers and notebooks. There is a newly implemented 'bring your own device' program for Years 3 to 6 which is supplemented by a supply of notebooks.
