She has invented and patented products, developed five companies, and serviced over 6,000 clients and students. Between 1994-1996, Nora and partner created a clothing line of over 30 pieces for mix and matching 100% cotton knit fabrics in over 12 colors and patterns. This company, Fashion Fun, operated in Boulder, Colorado. The concept was to show, try on, and order in private home showings. Items purchased were made in cottage industry local homes, and delivered with in 4 weeks. We used local women, raising their children and they could stay at home and work. 1996-1998, Nora managed two local businesses, Wallace Sewing and Timbuktu clothing company in Boulder, Colorado while creating beautiful custom clothing for her personal clients. In 1998 Nora invented and US patented, the first ergonomic sewing table platform for the home sewing industry. She and 2 associates created the Sew Ergo company, made and marketed the Tilt'able and Sure Foot System as well as the Perfect Sewing Chair, internationally. This was the first ergonomic system, of 3 products that any home sewist could use in their sewing room to create a pain free sewing experience! The Tilt'able supports the sewing machine to be tilted toward the user so that the user's neck and back are at ease and the needle area can be seen much more clearly without tilting the head again to "read" the needle. The Sure Foot system captures the "roaming" foot pedal on a non-sliding grid mat and offers a left foot support to allow the users lower back to keep the natural curve supporting the spine and head. The Perfect Sewing Chair is adjustable much more than an office chair with the seat actually tilting so the pressure on the back of the leg operating the foot pedal has very little pressure on it. Also the lumbar support and adjustable arms allow for a great sewing experience in comfort. Sew Ergo Ergonomics now supplies to online marketers such as Amazon and Sew Vac Direct.
