Inspired by Pope Saint John XXIII, Pope John XXIII High School strengthens Catholic faith, academic excellence, integrity, and leadership through the Gospel spirit of Jesus Christ. Originally named Our Lady of the Lake Diocesan High School, Pope John XXIII High School was renamed in 1964 in memory of Pope Saint John XXIII. Now part of the Catholic Academy of Sussex County, our rigorous college-preparatory curriculum challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and grow intellectually in a supportive, faith-filled environment. Students can choose from a wide array of Honors and Advanced Placement courses, along with specialized electives that spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of learning. Pope John graduates consistently gain admission to some of the nation’s most selective colleges and universities, reflecting the school’s commitment to academic excellence, integrity, and leadership.
