All praises are to God Almighty. The Charitable Mohamed Sathak Trust was started in the year 1973 by Five brothers and Four brother-in-laws in the loving memory of their father Janab. Mohamed Sathak Thampy, who was the Jameen of Mayakulam and the surrounding region and later on as the President of the Kilakarai Panchayat Union for several times. The aim of the Trust was to promote Technical Education and train the students to cope with the technological needs of the day. Initially, the Trust was offering scholarships to poor students for their education. In the year1980, their first institution Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College was established and the Mohamed Sathak Engineering College (MSEC) was started in the year 1984 as the very first Self finance Engineering College in the State of Tamil Nadu (G.O. Ms.No.1088, Education dated 21.08.1984). It was started with 3 Programmes and now we are running successfully 10 Under Graduate and 10 Post Graduate Programmes. All programmes are approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The Marine Engineering programme is approved by Director General of Shipping (DGS) and Architecture programme is approved by Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi.

NPR College of Education (NPRCE) was established in the year 2005. The College has approved Government of Tamil Nadu and NCTE, Bangalore and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education School, Chennai. NPR College of Education has been accredited with ‘B’ grade by NAAC. Our motto is “Reach the Star”, the objective of the institution is to increase the number of quality teachers, committed opportunities of educational excellence and enquiry for all learners in particularly those from rural areas and to enhance academic achievements at every level in importing quality education in teacher education.
