This gap is especially pronounced among marginalized communities and the sizable youth demographic comprising nearly 27% of the country’s population. Compounding these issues is the stark reality that fewer than 10% of youth organizations receive adequate support for policy training and advocacy networking, limiting the capacity for meaningful civic participation and grassroots influence. To bridge this divide, NITIVAANI is anchored in three core pillars: Policy Education, Portfolio Building and Assistance, and Policy Advocacy and Engagement. The initiative begins by demystifying governance and policies through interactive workshops and learning models designed to foster systemic policy literacy. This foundation empowers individuals to critically observe and connect their lived experiences with the broader governance framework. Complementing education is robust support for developing concrete portfolios, where changemakers, researchers, and students receive mentorship and expert guidance, equipping them to produce impactful research and advocacy materials. The program’s third pillar focuses on skill-building for active policy engagement, enabling participants to effectively participate in policy dialogues, public consultations, and advocacy campaigns designed to hold government bodies accountable.
