Green Thumb Farms has been farming in Western Maine since 1965. Working on 2000 acres of rich Saco River Valley soil has firmly established our reputation for quality potatoes, turf, dry beans and corn. Our third generation family farm strives to preserve Maine’s open spaces and agricultural heritage. Our agricultural roots lie in the production of the highest quality Maine potatoes. We grow and market several varieties of potatoes for supermarkets, food service distributors and processors, we recently added organic potatoes to our product list. Our state-of-the-art technology enables us to ensure quality potatoes in every bag. Green Thumb’s turf business grows two varieties, Kentucky Bluegrass and Tall Fescue blend. We market directly to landscapers, golf courses and the sports turf industry, as well as homeowners. Green Thumb Farms has diversified into the dry bean business. Currently, we grow New England heirloom bean varieties such as Jacob’s Cattle, Yellow Eye, Soldier, and Red Kidney. Typically these varieties are used in baked beans, but they also work well in soups, stews and salads. Historically, the Fryeburg area has been fertile ground for growing corn. Green Thumb Farms grows corn purposed for livestock but recently the same type of corn has become popular as a clean, renewable heating source much like wood pellets. We are also proud of out sister company Maine Distilleries and their award winning Cold River Vodka, made from our potatoes!

Pam & Bruce Bishop along w/ thier 4 children, Bruce II, Shannon, Logan & Blaine, own & manage Fresh Start Farm. Pam started riding when she was 8 & living in CA. Her love was always H/J & Eventing. Her Dad was in the Navy, so moving every 3 or 4 years gave her the opportunity to ride all over the world, literally. She spent her high school years in Rota, Spain, & rode everything from Andalusian stallions & Steeplechase TB's, to barrel horses & bucking bulls in the Rodeo Club. She received her BS degree at Va. Tech in Animal Science w/ a minor in Agronomy in '81, & received a MBA w/ emphasis in Marketing from St. Louis University in '87. When Pam & Bruce, a microbiologist at Pfizer, married they started what began as Bishop Farm, & then grew to Fresh Start Farm.

For nearly 20 years now, Nature's Way Farm has been producing some of the finest, purest honey and honey products in the pristine Finger Lakes region of New York state. As a third generation bee farm, our love and appreciation for the bees themselves runs deep; to us, bees are not a commodity, they are so much more than that. Our bees produce the finest honey not only because of the ideal environment in which they are kept, but because our relationship with them is very personal; they're like family to us!
