NIO Formula E Information

One of the cornerstone teams of Formula E, having been part of the championship since its inception in 2014, and sponsoring the inaugural Drivers’ Championship winning team with Nelson Piquet Jr in 2015, NIO is synonymous with technological advancement and engineering excellence. At the forefront of the electric car revolution, NIO consistently strives to develop cutting-edge technologies which can be transferred from the race track to the passenger cars of today and tomorrow. NIO’s Formula E Team is headed by Team Principal Gérry Hughes, who originally joined the squad as Chief Race Engineer. Hughes’ career spans three decades in high-performance engineering and he is also responsible for all aspects of the NIO EP9 Supercar project as Head of Performance Programme.
