"Nine Studios is a London based startup that designs, develops and sells consumer friendly smart home products." Nine Studios was founded in 2010 by Charlie Jackson, initially as a design consultancy for doing graphic design work alongside his engineering studies at the University of Nottingham. The company began forming its own design identity when Charlie designed a range of smart wireless lights for Nine Studios in 2012. Since then the company iterated into becoming a store “Nine Store” selling smart home products aimed at a more mainstream market. Having decided to go back to it’s roots in design and using their research into consumer smart home products, Nine Studios turned to design, develop and sell consumer friendly smart home products. From early 2013 Nine Studios has been developing Photine - a new type of digital photo frame.
