The Centre for Fine Art, Animation and Design (CFAD) is a tertiary institution that offers training in fine art, animation (2D and 3D) and graphic design. The CFAD was established in 1994 by world-renowned cartoonist, illustrator and journalist Nanda Soobben who together with academic head Krish Moodley and a team of dedicated artists and designers have turned this modest art school into an industry leader in design and animation training. Students from USA, Japan, India, Botswana and Zimbabwe are registered at the institution, which is registered with the Department of Education, and accredited by the Council on Higher Education and the South African Qualifications Authority as a private higher education institution. CFAD also promotes art and culture development in the fields of animation desisign. Actively involved in the development of the animation industry in South Africa.
