Niagara Symphony Information

The NSO has been entertaining Niagara since 1948 participating in events throughout the Region from summer concerts along the wine route featuring Canadian artists such as Chantal Kreviazuk, Adam Cohen, Royal Wood & Sarah Slean to wowing the crowd on the water at Welland's annual Illuminaqua and celebrating Canada Day in St. Catharines' Market Square. The Niagara Symphony Orchestra (NSO) brings inspiration and excitement to the Region's arts and culture scene through our awe-inspiring 52-member orchestra. With performances for all audiences, we aim to enrich, entertain and educate. In 2010, we welcomed our new Music Director & Principal Conductor, Bradley Thachuk. He is passionate about our growth and development and thrilled to introduce Niagara to many of his favourites as we grow into the new Concert Hall of our future Performing Arts Centre. We are devoted to making St. Catharines' downtown core come alive with music and culture as the Orchestra in Residence at Brock University in the newly designed St. Catharines Performing Arts Centre, our future home set to take centre stage in late 2015. Join us this season as we present our POPS! Series, MasterWorks series and our all NEW Family Concert Series. The NSO is a strong advocate for cultural development in the Niagara Region. We offer six acclaimed education initiatives to inspire and nurture a life-long enjoyment of orchestral music: Composer in the Classroom, The Niagara Symphony Youth Club, The Academy @ SMC, Summer Music Camp, In Your Ear and Spotlight On!
