NHS Hounslow is responsible for the health of over 250,000 people living in Bedfont, Brentford, Chiswick, Feltham, Hanworth, Heston, Hounslow and Isleworth. We plan and purchase a range of care and treatment to meet local health needs. We use NHS money to make a difference deciding how funds are spent locally, by arranging for healthcare in hospitals, in the community and by GPs, dentists, pharmacists and opticians; ensure that there are healthcare options and choices for patients; improve the standard of healthcare; and advise and help local people on staying healthy. Our vision: Making Hounslow Healthier. To improve the health and well being of the population of Hounslow to a level equal to or better than that of comparable areas in the UK. Our goals 1. Develop equality and consistency in access to services and health outcomes within Hounslow. So that in five years time healthcare delivery for Hounslow is amongst the best in the country across a range of indicators. 2. Children, young people and young mothers experience improved standards of healthcare at earlier stages. So that they receive the right care at the right time, resulting in less reliance on emergency hospital services. 3. Implement highly integrated and consistent health and social care services across three local networks (or polysystems) covering Central, West and East Hounslow. So that the needs of patients with long term conditions are met more effectively in more appropriate settings, resulting in less emergency hospital admissions. 4. Achieve financial balance and a viable local health economy within existing and future resources, given the historic financial position of NHS Hounslow and its scheduled debt repayments.
