NHS Benchmarking Network Information

For 30 years, the NHS Benchmarking Network (NHSBN) has helped health and care organisations use comparative data to plan services, understand variation and support improvement. Established in 1996, NHSBN is a member community of 141 health and social care providers, commissioners and like-minded organisations. We deliver national and bespoke benchmarking projects across the acute, community, mental health, and learning disabilities and autism sectors. Our 14+ active datasets cover a wide range of services, including: Mental health services for adults, older people, and children and young people Adult and children's community services, including district nursing and intermediate care Emergency care, outpatients and virtual wards Frailty, pharmacy and clinical coding Workforce, neighbourhood indicators and international benchmarking We also deliver national audits and improvement programmes, including the National Audit of Care at the End of Life (NACEL), the Learning Disability Improvement Standards (LDIS) and CVDPREVENT. Membership gives organisations access to: Benchmarking datasets and comparative performance analysis Indicator tools for national, community and MHLDA services Collaborative improvement networks and workshops Tailored analysis, interpretation and improvement support NHSBN is hosted by East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust and delivered by The Benchmarking Network.
