Newscron - your local newspaper in one app Information

Newscron offers a large number of newspapers, blogs, websites and other information. Unlike other aggregators, Newscron has a unique algorithm which is able to filter and organize the news semantically. This means that the app gets the news from several sources and groups them into stories and articles related to the same topic. This allows the reader to follow the evolution of a particular event from different perspectives, avoid duplicated news, optimize his time and become better informed faster. Newscron can be customized according the geographical region and the personal preferences of users. The app is available in 5 different languages (english, spanish, german, french and italian) and in 33 countries, from Europe to Latin American. Newscron has apps out for iPad, iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 8. Newscron is a start up company, came out in October 2012, as a research project at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. The aim was to understand how the amount of information affects users’ behaviour. As a part of the project, Zürich researchers developed their own mobile news aggregator app dedicated to changing the world of news.
