The Newport News Education Foundation is a diverse group of citizens with shared vision who nurture trusting relationships, and co-create strategies that support Newport News Public Schools. We are deeply committed to both improving the educational outcomes of our student learners, and preparing them to thrive in an environment full of opportunities to succeed in their future life and careers. Our mission binds our leadership expertise to the culture of philanthropy with the goal of enriching the quality of teaching and learning and strengthening innovation in education through sustained business partnerships. The synergistic interaction of the Education Foundation and Newport News Public Schools underwrites our shared commitment to: • Facilitate and create learning opportunities for students along the "Profile of a Learner" to ensure they graduate college-ready, career-ready, and citizen-ready • Create meaningful philanthropic opportunities and make transformational connections with supportive educational partners within local business, community and non-profit organizations • Advocate on behalf of Newport News Public Schools student learners, educators and leadership staff to excite learning, to explore career options and to engage in practical experiences • Communicate in all directions – to the community, to the public and throughout the school division • Educate in all directions – share the School Division’s Journey 2025 Vision, connect students to career exploration and work-based learning experiences within the Career Pathways Program, and ensure Division programs are fully-funded.
