Panelview provides optically enhanced solutions to standard color active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) modules. The 6.4 inch display enhancement is an index matching (IM) film lamination to the front surface of the display polarizer. The IM film is available in two surface treatments - IM/Clear and IM/110 (a 10 percent diffusion). The module incorporates four cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) for increased luminance. The new 6.4 inch display is comprised of a color thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panel, driver ICs, control circuit and power supply circuit. Graphics and texts can be displayed on a 640 x RGB x 480 dot panel with 262,144 colors by supplying 18-bit data signal (6-bit/color), four timing signals, +5V DC supply voltage for TFT-LCD panel driving and supply voltage for backlight. Specific benefits of the 6.4 inch display, part number ENH064V1-800, include enhancements to increase sunlight readability at only 1.7 watts per lamp, low-reflection and high brightness (800cd/m2). With a 6 o'clock viewing angle in a compact, low-power package this product is a cost effective alternative to custom designs.
