The New York State Baseball Hall of Fame, with its inaugural class inducted in 2011, is designed to honor former players, coaches, umpires and ambassadors of the game of baseball from the Empire State. In addition to induction, the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame also honors three individuals each year through our Johny Evers Contributor Award, Johnny Podres Lifetime Achievement Award, and the John Cerutti Sportsmanship Award The Hall of Fame is divided into three geographic areas: Upstate, Downstate and Western New York. Western New York includes Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester and Utica. Downstate includes New York City, Long Island and points north to Kingston. Upstate goes from Kingston to Canada. Our Board of Directors reviews each nominee based on two elements: their on-the-field accomplishments & their body of work in the state of New York.
