New Ground Theatre Information

New Ground Theatre is the only company in this region with a proven commitment to the finest living voices of the American theatre. Since its founding by Chris Jansen in 2000, NGT has produced over forty plays -- most by award-winning playwrights, and many of them Pulitzer Prize winners! We produce the Quad Cities premiers of entertaining thought-provoking plays from comedies to dramas and everything in between. Most have been honored or widely produced at major American theatres; significant plays of our times that would not otherwise be professionally staged for the audiences of our region! NGT gives the people of the Quad Cities the opportunity to enjoy quality productions of these important works without an overnight trip to Chicago and at a fraction of the cost. The lauded authors who have had their plays produced here include Pulitzer Prize winners Beth Henley, Tracy Letts, Jon Robin Baitz, Donald Margulies, Margaret Edson, and Lanford Wilson; and Pulitzer finalists like Lee Blessing.
