We are an Off-Broadway theatre company dedicated to nurturing the voices of daring artists, and to developing and producing work that pushes the boundaries of what theatre can be and do. One of the country’s preeminent centers for the creation of new plays and musicals, our work seeks to challenge and inspire all of us to see ourselves and our world from different perspectives. Notable projects developed and premiered by The Vineyard include two Pulitzer Prize-winning dramas, Paula Vogel’s HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE and Edward Albee’s THREE TALL WOMEN and five productions that have transferred to Broadway – John Kander and Fred Ebb’s THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen’s [title of show], Bobby Lopez, Jeff Marx and Jeff Whitty’s AVENUE Q (Tony Award, Best Musical), Nicky Silver’s THE LYONS, and most recently INDECENT by Paula Vogel. Other notable premieres include Becky Mode’s FULLY COMMITTED (which ran for two years Off-Broadway and has had more than 100 productions around the world); Colman Domingo’s DOT, Jenny Schwartz’s GOD’S EAR, Craig Lucas’ THE DYING GAUL, Nicky Silver’s PTERODACTYLS, Anne Washburn’s THE INTERNATIONALIST, Julia Cho’s THE PIANO TEACHER, Christopher Shinn’s WHERE DO WE LIVE, Will Eno’s MIDDLETOWN, Tarell Alvin McCraney’s WIG OUT!, Michael Mayer and Peter Lerman’s BROOKLYNITE, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Pulitzer finalist play GLORIA, and many more. Vineyard productions have gone on to be seen around the country and the world. Our commitment to innovative work has earned The Vineyard, our artists and productions two Pulitzer Prizes, five Tony Awards, 23 Obie Awards, two Oppenheimer Awards, and numerous New York Drama Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Drama Desk awards. The Vineyard is proud to have been honored with a special Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Body of Work, a Drama Desk Award for Artistic Excellence, and the first-ever Ross Wetzsteon Obie Award for support of artists and creativity in the theatre.

Founded in 1965, New York’s not-for-profit Roundabout Theatre Company produces a mix of revivals and world premieres in its five theatres on and off Broadway, winning nine Best Revival Tony Awards and debuting such new playwrights as Stephen Karam, Lindsey Ferrentino, Steven Levenson, Joshua Harmon, Ming Peiffer, and Mansa Ra. Its educational initiatives impact 15,000 students and over 1,000 teachers annually. MISSION Roundabout celebrates the power of theatre by spotlighting classics from the past, cultivating new works of the present and educating minds for the future. OUR WORK WE PRODUCE familiar and lesser-known plays and musicals with the ability to take artistic risk as only a not-for-profit can. WE DISCOVER talented playwrights and provide them long-term artistic support to contribute to the future of the theatrical canon. WE REDUCE the barriers– financial, physical and cultural– that can inhibit theatergoing. WE COLLABORATE with a diverse team of artists to identify programming for consideration. WE BUILD transformational education experiences that enhance teacher practice, deepen student learning, and ignite the future of young people through career training and placement. WE CAPTURE AND ARCHIVE over five decades of production history as an open resource for artists, scholars, and our community.

Conceived over 60 years ago as one of the nation’s first nonprofit theaters, The Public has long operated on the principles that theater is an essential cultural force and that art and culture belong to everyone. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham, The Public’s wide breadth of programming includes an annual season of new work at its landmark home at Astor Place, Free Shakespeare in the Park at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, the Mobile Unit touring throughout New York City’s five boroughs, Public Works, Public Shakespeare Initiative, and Joe’s Pub. Since premiering HAIR in 1967, The Public continues to create the canon of American Theater and is currently represented on Broadway by the Tony Award-winning musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Their programs and productions can also be seen regionally across the country and around the world. The Public has received 60 Tony Awards, 190 Obie Awards, 57 Drama Desk Awards, 61 Lortel Awards, 36 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 13 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, 62 AUDELCO Awards, 6 Antonyo Awards, and 6 Pulitzer Prizes.
