The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
VOA is more than a nonprofit. We are a ministry of service committed to helping build brighter, more resilient futures.
Since 1896, we have served communities across the country through hundreds of human service programs, including housing, health care and support for veterans, people experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, individuals returning from incarceration and those in recovery.
Today, more than 15,000 professionals and thousands of volunteers help VOA serve people in communities across the country. Our purpose remains the same: providing compassionate care today so communities can flourish tomorrow.
