Neutral specializes in integrated communication design and technology solutions. The work encompasses Interactive and system architecture, audio-visual branding strategy, video/screen design and 3D animation. Founded in 1999 in Tokyo by architects Tapio Snellman and Christian Grou, Neutral was born out of a fascination with urbanity, an obsession with cities, spatial interaction and visual communication. Long-term collaborations with architects such as Herzog & de Meuron, Zaha Hadid and David Adjaye in the field of moving images have established Neutral's position within a wider architectural/ urban discourse. Based in London the practice has attracted clients such as Toyota, Citroen. KONE and Lufthansa German Airlines, commissioning video-animations, interface design and animated graphics. Art installations, such as the Cities piece currently on display at Tate Modern in London are at centre of the experimental approach to creating spaces through moving image.
