Das has a successful track record that began in 1978 when he set out to translate his ideas into reality and created the first version of STAAD-III, now the world's leading general-purpose structural engineering software. Realizing the immense commercial potential of the Information Technology industry, Amrit diversified into the areas of Internet, e-commerce, Digital Media and IT products and services that developed into netGuru, Inc. - an Information Technology company specializing in Internet related products and services. Under Amrit's leadership, netGuru, Inc. (Trading symbol: NGRU) became a public company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. His initial creation STAAD-Pro was also a key factor in facilitating netGuru’s transition into a publicly traded company. In 2006, Amrit divested the public shell and converted netGuru’s retained infrastructure into a private company with the intent of a larger focus on its core competencies.
