NeoCardial Technologies, LLC ("NeoCardial") was founded by and on the concept of leading Cardiovascular Surgeons, a pioneer Perfusionist, and a PhD-JD Biochemist research scientist. Combined they have the experience of thousands of surgical procedures including heart transplants and a volume of ventricular assist devices implanted. The founders of NeoCardial have been involved with and helped develop first and second generation heart assist devices in several cardiovascular fields. Drawing from that they have merged together a team of medical device entrepreneurs to create the NeoCardial Lillehei-extra-ventricular assist device (Lillehei-EVA™), an advanced technology based on compression assist of the heart. NeoCardial intends to commercialize this technology which has the potential to extend millions of lives and create new procedures for myocardial preservation. To move the development at an accelerated pace over other devices, NeoCardial has taken an approach of early stage alliances with synergistic leading device developers and Bioscience companies with proven advanced technologies and long standing track records in commercializing their technology. The NeoCardial device is among a rare group of devices that have been believed to point in the direction for cardiac assist devices for decades but technology and materials had not evolved to achieve their development. In recent years materials and technology have matured to move theory toward reality. NeoCardial has researched extensively to find partners in these fields and those with existing adjunct components that will accelerate the development phase of the device. Prototypes are being developed and tested and a talented in-house team is being recruited to maintain fast-forward progress.
