Nemus purchases at-risk land in the rainforests, creates NFTs for the land, and sells them as a ‘promise to conserve’. While the NFTs are not a claim to ownership of the land, they can be used to mine the native NEA token, unlock ongoing game rewards based on one’s collection and foster sustainable activity on the land. All funds received by Nemus beyond the cost of operations, land purchase and sustainable activity on the land are reinvested into the Nemus ecosystem. Through various aspects of DeFi, NFTs and game theory, Nemus will inspire a generation of ‘guardians’ to work and play together; preserve the forest in a sustainable way; and be rewarded for doing good in a Circular Economy.
