The 'Nederlands Klassiek Verbond' is a cultural association for anyone with an interest in the ancient world, i.e. the history, politics, religion and culture of the Greek and Roman civilization. Its members (5500) are to be found among classicists, historians, archaeologists, but mainly come from the general public. The association has a total of 35 branches in the Netherlands and Belgium. On both the local and national level it provides lectures, field trips, symposia and other educational activities; all of which are aimed at disseminating the knowledge of Greco-Roman culture. In order to do so, it cooperates closely with universities, museums and schools throughout both countries. The association is presided over by a national board; daily business is transacted by an executive committee consisting of three members.
