NEBRASKA WIND SYMPHONY Information

In September 1977, Darwyn Tony Snyder organized a group of 70 adult musicians and the Nebraska Wind Symphony, Omahas Community Concert Band was born. Tony and others had long recognized the need for a performance outlet for those who had spent years in high school and college band programs and now could not find an organized group with which to play. We celebrate the vision of these individuals that resulted in establishing the Nebraska Wind Symphony! The Nebraska Wind Symphony is an adult community band of over 75 adults from a wide variety of vocational backgrounds. Each concert season, the NWS performs three formal concerts plus other concerts in a variety of venues, including two free summer outdoor concerts. Our Mission: To provide amateur adult musicians the opportunity to perform music for wind band in a nurturing environment and share our music joyfully with the community. Our Vision: The Nebraska Wind Symphony is a musical treasure and goodwill ambassador for the City of Omaha and State of Nebraska.
