Leadership Maryland is a professional development program dedicated to building a better Maryland by harnessing the strength of its local business and community leaders. Each year, as many as 52 diverse and accomplished executives from Maryland’s public and private sectors are selected to come together as a class for an eight-month hands-on learning program focused on the state’s most vital social, economic and environmental issues. The first Leadership Maryland class graduated in 1993, and the organization’s alumni network now consists of more than 1,100 leaders from all industries and regions of the state.

Skinner Leadership Institute is a unique organization that serves business, political, young leaders and clergy leaders across the nation, and brings together leaders of diverse races and cultures seeking reconciliation based on the teachings and lessons of Jesus Christ. The organization’s vision is to raise up a new generation of Christ-centered leaders who are excellent spiritually and in the work they do. This vision came to Dr. Barbara Wiliams-Skinner and her husband, the late Tom Skinner, a former Harlem New York gang leader turned evangelist, pro sports chaplain, and author. Skinner Leadership Institute coaches, trains and equips leaders in our nation, the church, and among youth, to become committed to moral and technical excellence, reconciliation and empowerment of the economically underserved and spiritually neglected to impact and influence their communities and the world. Skinner Leadership Institute is led by Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, a lawyer and ordained minister with a Doctorate of Ministry. Dr. Williams-Skinner herself, a product of a neglected California urban area, has become a leader of leaders across the nation, a bridge-builder across the racial divide, and a voice for the voiceless here and around the globe. She is called upon by leaders for spiritual guidance as she is known to live a life rooted in prayer.

Founded in 1991, Leadership Medina County (LMC) is a nonprofit educational and leadership development organization dedicated to developing, connecting, and inspiring leaders who strengthen Medina County. For more than three decades, LMC has brought together individuals from business, nonprofits, education, government, and other sectors to build leadership skills, deepen community understanding, and foster meaningful relationships that lead to lasting impact. WHAT WE DO Through our Signature Program, Junior Leadership program, LEAD Institute, and organizational training opportunities, LMC empowers leaders at every level to develop their potential, expand their understanding of Medina County, and build connections across sectors. Our programs combine leadership development, community immersion, and civic engagement to help participants better understand the people, organizations, opportunities, and challenges shaping our county.
