Nazdeek Information

Nazdeek is a women-led organization that advances community justice and legal empowerment through grants, strategic advising, and research support across South Asia. We envision a just and equitable world, where everyone has an opportunity to lead a dignified life. We, at Nazdeek, focus on legal empowerment as a way to ensure access to all processes that guarantee the wellbeing of people. Legal empowerment enables people to gain the knowledge and skills to navigate complex, at times inaccessible, systems to improve their socioeconomic conditions. We engage in grant-making, strategic advising, and providing research support to help develop and implement community-owned, sustainable, and adaptable legal empowerment programs. We are led by an all women board of visionaries—lawyers, academics, business professionals, and researchers—who are deeply committed to community justice through an intersectional lens. They are instrumental in ensuring Nazdeek meets its mission and vision through strategic leadership and guidance.
