Naxos Music UK Information

Select Music & Video Distribution Ltd. was founded in 1991 in order to distribute and market the Naxos and Marco Polo labels in the UK. Since then it has steadily increased the scale of its operations and taken on the distribution of many other classical labels, including Hyperion, ASV, BIS, CPO, Collegium, Opera Rara, Alia Vox, Hanssler, Black Box, Coro and Gimell. By the time the company reached its 10th birthday it had established itself as by far the largest and most successful independent classical distributor in the UK. Over the past year the company has continued to forge ahead whilst other distributors cut back. Perhaps the most prominent recent development has been the growth of the DVD market, an area where Select has taken a lead with the handling of the Arthaus, BBC / Opus Arte and TDK labels.
