The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a privately funded nonprofit organization, works to save America’s historic places. A recipient of the National Humanities Medal, the Trust was founded in 1949. Staff at the Washington, DC, headquarters, 13 field offices and 27 historic sites work on behalf of more than 300,000 members and supporters in all 50 states.
