Rooted in Gospel values that affirm the dignity of every person, the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) works collaboratively to ensure meaningful participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of the life of the Church and society. Initiatives: - Working with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to revise the U.S. Bishops Guidelines on the Celebration of the Sacraments for Persons with Disabilities. - Offering a disability perspective to dioceses and national Catholic organizations through regional meetings, partnerships, and trainings. - Facilitating a Vatican conference entitled "Catechesis and Persons with Disabilities" with the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization and the Kairos Forum. - Running the National Catholic Partnership on Disability Council on Mental Illness and Council on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. -Planning a theology and disability symposium for pastoral leaders, clergy, and students.
