NAT Information

NAT (Network for Applied Technology, formerly NeurAlbertaTech) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering students and recent grads to learn, build, and lead in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. What sets us apart is our ability to meaningfully integrate education, collaboration, and innovation. Through our competitions, participants gain hands-on experience building with emerging technologies such as biosensors, AI, machine learning, and AR/VR, while developing professional and entrepreneurial skills through teamwork, project management, and pitching. These experiences are grounded in solving real-world challenges in health, accessibility, education, sustainability, and beyond. Alongside our competitions, we offer accessible skills training as an entry point into emerging technologies, along with ongoing project support that enables participants to continue building and turn their ideas into real-world ventures. By creating pathways from early interest to skills training, real-world technology development, and ultimately to entrepreneurship or employment, NAT develops career-ready talent while driving innovation for social good across Canada. Since 2021, we’ve reached over 2,500 youth, enabled the development of over 250 functional prototypes, and achieved a 64% continuation rate among winning competition teams one year later. Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary learning and innovation through workshops, competitions, and community initiatives. Our vision is a future where education begins with innovation.
