NASVF Information

The National Association of Seed & Venture Funds (NASVF) is an international membership organization that advocates for the growth of seed and early-stage innovation capital. NASVF connects the people in the world of venture capital and regional economic development. We collaborate with public and private fund managers and tech transfer professionals, the folks who are committed to building their local economies by investing in entrepreneurs. It started in 1993 as a small group that met annually to discuss the best means of generating funds for technology companies in states and regions. Then in 1997, the group was formally incorporated as a non-profit organization and named The National Association of State Venture Funds. As the scope of services to private investment organizations and programs grew, the group changed its name to the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds in 2000. NASVF members represent seed and early-stage funds, angels, tech-based economic development organizations, university and federal technology commercialization centers, entrepreneurship centers and incubators, national laboratories and professional service providers. NASVF serves as an umbrella organization so that these professionals may partner and collaborate with one another to strategize and bridge the gaps between entrepreneurship, funding, and commercialization.
