Napier is the processing boat specialist and is leading the evolution of the transport of fish for slaughter. In 1995 Bernt Arne Eidesvik and Arnt Eidesvik founded Napier, and developed the movable bulkhead for well boats, which is now an industry standard. After several years of operating the first vessel, Napier built the largest well-boat in the world in 2001, with the new Tauranga. And in 2008, after an extensive research and development phase with Mowi, Napier rebuilt Tauranga into a processing vessel. In 2019 we received two new processing vessels, Taupo and Taupiri, and our latest vessel, Taumar, arrived in May 2020. The four processing vessels we operate have a combined hauling capacity of 1120 tons a day, and a harvesting speed of around 800 fish/min. With a strong focus on welfare, environment and development we strive to progress the concept of pen-side harvest further every day.
