NanoRev aims to alleviate the pains of working with monoclonal antibodies in the lab, by offering an entirely different platform of affinity molecules: aptamers (oligonucleotides). The unique three-dimensional structure that each nucleotide sequence will form, can be used in a "lock-and-key" model to select aptamers that will seek out and bind to the target of interest with higher affinity and selectivity than an antibody. Aptamers also offer direct detection of a target, as they can be directly bound to nanoparticles.
