NeoraVision (formerly NanoDrops) is a medical device company developing an optical patterning solution to provide multi-year spectacle independence for adults with presbyopia. Up to now, when pre-cataract patients in their 40s to 60s find themselves needing to hold their book further away or magnify the text on their screen in order to read properly, reading glasses have long been the go-to solution. Our corneal patterning solution preserves the shape of the cornea while avoiding the need for reading glasses or intraocular surgery. Eye surgeons will be able to apply NeoraVision’s customized corneal pattern using their existing laser infrastructure, creating a new premium revenue channel for refractive practices. This solution, currently at a pre-clinical stage, is designed to give eye clinics an opportunity to expand their customer base to patients who may otherwise not be considered ideal candidates for laser eye surgery. NeoraVision has raised $11.3 million in seed capital and grants. The company was founded in 2020 by refractive and cataract surgeon Prof. David Smadja, MD, chair of the Innovation Committee of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, president of the Israeli Society of Refractive Surgery and associate professor of ophthalmology at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
