Gillian has lived all of her life on Vancouver Island, mostly in the Nanaimo area. She spent several years working in Occupational First Aid and Safety with the Emergency Health Services and more recently was involved in the natural food industry, especially with the promotion of organic foods. Together with her partner, Gillian currently owns, manages and serves as a guide for Pacific Northwest Expeditions, a local kayak touring company. One of the objectives of the company is to foster a concern for the environment by revitalizing their guests' connection to nature. Gillian currently serves on several NALT Committees.
