Namibia Post Limited (NamPost) was established by the Post and Telecommunications Companies Establishment Act 17 of 1992. The company is owned by the Namibia Post and Telecom Holdings Limited which is in turn owned by the Government of the Republic of Namibia. The purpose of NamPost as outlined in the establishing Act is to “conduct postal services and supplementary services”. The supplementary services are defined as the provision of Savings Bank services and money transfer services. NamPost has a vast network of 137 Post Offices countrywide, the only financial and logistic services provider with a footprint at all corners of the country. NamPost is a members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Pan Africa Union (PAPU) and Southern Africa Postal Operators Association (SAPOA) and has an international obligation in respect of universal postal services as set by the world body, UPU.
