RethinkWaste, also known as the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA), is a joint powers authority of eleven local government jurisdictions (City of Belmont, City of Burlingame, City of East Palo Alto, City of Foster City, Town of Hillsborough, City of Menlo Park, City of Redwood City, City of San Carlos, City of San Mateo, the County of San Mateo, and the West Bay Sanitary District) in San Mateo County, California.
RethinkWaste owns and manages the Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos, California, which receives all the recyclables, green waste, and garbage collected from the Member Agencies. We provides strategic oversight, support, and management of service providers that collect, process, recycle, and dispose of materials. We also educate residents and businesses in our service area through innovative and cost-effective waste reduction, recycling, and solid waste programs.
Smart Recycling, Inc. was established in 1978 by Salvatore J. Russo under the name of Russo Metal Company. In 1995 Russo Metal Company became a California corporation known as Smart Recycling, Inc. Our corporation offers a wide variety of services including various containers for the purpose of collecting scrap metal and recyclables. With radio dispatched trucks, service is available within twenty-four hours of request for our industry customers. Today more than ever we view our customers as business partners and work diligently at providing cost effective methods to recycle scrap metals and other recyclable commodities. It is my goal as the owner of Smart Recycling to provide a competitive and dependable service unmatched, while personally handling and overseeing the needs of each customer, and seek new and better ways of handling your needs, always searching for the most competitive markets available.
