Established by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on August 12, 1981 to develop national capabilities in engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) for large industrial plant into a world-class capability. PT Rekayasa Industri (REKIND) is today one of the foremost EPCC companies in Indonesia. The company’s scope of EPCC business includes: Gas, Geothermal, Refinery, Petrochemical, Mineral, Environmental, and Infrastructure. In addition, the company also provides services for Project/Plant Feasibility Studies and Plant Maintenance.

WIKA was formed by the nationalization process of a Dutch company named, Naamloze Vennotschap Technische Handel Maatschappij en Bouwbedijf Vis en Co. or NV Vis en Co. Pursuant To Government Regulation No. 2 / 1960 and Minister of Public Works and Electric Power (PUTL) Decree No. 5 dated 11 March 1960, to be named Perusahaan Negara Bangunan Widjaja Karja. WIKA’s line of business at the time was electrical and water pipe installation works. In the early 1960s, WIKA took part in the construction project of Gelanggang Olah Raga Bung Karno in order of Games of the New Emerging Forces (GANEFO) and the 4th Asian Games providence in Jakarta. PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. (WIKA) has committed to contribute to the success of government programs, especially in infrastructure developments, in line with the Company's core business in construction. A number of infrastructure development have been mandated by the Government to the Company, and WIKA’s infrastructure and buildings development bring a positive impact to "Create Impact" and benefit to society (stakeholders). The infrastructure and buildings have a design that is not only modern but follows the concept of "social impact", where people can feel the bene t from this infrastructure immediately and the advantages that will improve their welfare and economic growth. To support these efforts, WIKA continues to make improvements in Human Resources and technology capabilities. These efforts have elevated WIKA to be one of the leading companies in the application of technology, especially in the construction industry. Eventually, WIKA’s commitment e orts will shape the Company’s devotion to the country encouraging it to play an active role in national development. Therefore, the company’s presence with its various production outputs is expected to play a role in the equitable distribution of economic growth, in line with the corporate’s performance increase and growth.

An Indonesian State Owned Enterprise with the main business is transmission and distribution of natural gas from the producers to the customers. The Company serves 3 (three) regional gas distribution and 1 (one) transmission line throughout Indonesia. Nowadays, the Company has subsidiaries and affiliated company totaled 8 (eight) companies and still expanding.
