myPlan Information

myPlan is a free, evidence-informed digital safety planning resource designed to help people navigate intimate partner violence (IPV), relationship abuse, and concerning or unhealthy relationship behaviors—whether they are experiencing them personally or are worried about someone they care about. Created with survivors, advocates, researchers, and experts in intimate partner violence, myPlan helps users make sense of what they are experiencing, identify potential risks, explore personalized safety strategies, and connect with resources and support—all while respecting a fundamental reality of abuse: survivors know their circumstances best. Safety isn't an add-on to myPlan; it is embedded throughout the experience of using the potentially life-saving tool. Because technology use itself can create risks for people experiencing coercive control or abuse, survivors and experts helped shape myPlan with safety and privacy considerations at the forefront of its design. myPlan also recognizes that friends, family members, colleagues, and professionals can play a critical role. The app provides guidance for people concerned about someone else, helping them better understand abuse and learn how to offer support without judgment or inadvertently increasing risk. myPlan is especially valuable anywhere survivors have a touchpoint: healthcare systems, schools and universities, domestic violence programs, workplaces, legal and justice systems, first responders, community organizations, and beyond. Additionally, a myPlan Teen version extends this work to the unique realities young people face in relationships.
