World Centric began with a mission to reduce economic injustice and environmental degradation through education and community networks. Founded in 2004 by Aseem Das as a non-profit, he funded the organization through a small, online store promoting Fair Trade products. Realizing the contribution compostables items have to reducing waste, they were added to the store’s offerings. As demand grew for an earth-friendly alternative to traditional disposables, World Centric began to innovate and introduce our own products made from renewable resources and agricultural byproducts. We unintentionally became a leading supplier in the green packaging industry.Recognizing the power of commerce to impact the planet, World Centric converted to a for-profit social enterprise in 2009. In 2010, we certified as a B Corp, then became a California Benefit Corporation - using our products and profits as a way to make a difference in the world.

Established in 1994, Culina is Singapore’s leading food and beverage distributor, specialising in fine wines, fresh produce, premium cuts of meat and quality foods from Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy and beyond. In 2015, Culina extended its wholesale operations to the Maldives, supplying to luxury hotels and resorts in the region.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)-accredited since 2007, Culina’s commitment to quality and food safety has been recognized by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore with the Food Safety Excellence Certificate of Commendation (Grade A). Its strong relationships with suppliers and producers are the basis for excellent sourcing, competitive pricing, stellar after-sales service and prompt delivery, making Culina a partner of choice to the leading hotels, restaurants and retail outlets in Singapore, inspiring professional chefs and amateur gourmets alike.
On the retail front, Culina’s independent gourmet flagship boutique – with its in-house butchery and cold delicatessen section – is dedicated to providing epicurean treats for cooking, eating and entertaining at home. Located at 15 Dempsey Road, it also houses a bistro-style restaurant where customers can sample the extensive fine food and wine offerings available at Culina.
From 2008 to 2018, Culina’s retail expansion plan has also seen it opened 15 Culina branded butcheries at supermarkets across the island.
Marking its 30th anniversary in 2024, Culina celebrated a new chapter with expansion to Kuala Lumpur.
