Hi, my name is Mitch Aist. I developed a severe case of computer-related RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) in both my hands at age 29. Since then, I managed to continue my employment and even thrive at my job despite my injury due to extensive medical treatment, modified work station (featuring many cool futuristic gadgets), and developing more efficient work habits (delegation, automation, and more). However, I was not comfortable in my new (injured) situation. I left my job nearly a year after my injury to more aggressively rehabilitate my body and my spirit, and pursue a more balanced lifestyle. I believe that anyone who contracts this very real and debilitating condition can achieve their goals, and acquire new skills and strategies to cope and even thrive in a career and in life. Through this blog, I will share my recovery journey and experiences. The material presented is primarily for current RSI/chronic hand pain sufferers, but much of the content will be highly useful to those at risk of getting RSI (i.e. pretty much all computer and smartphone users). My mission is to advocate for better education about computer-related RSI and for lifestyles and habits which lower those risks.
