USAID Competitiveness project started with the National Internship and Job Placement program in March of 2009, a program which offers solution to meet the needs of today and prepare the workforce of tomorrow. In the Republic of Macedonia until that time there was no national internship program with consistent methodology and coverage of the whole country. We call it a ‘program in which everyone gains’ and the main modus vivendi of the program is the portal www.mycareer.com.mk which brings together the students and job seekers with the employers and educational institutions. Until the middle of September is has 2100 registered students, 148 companies and 13 institutions. After the initial promotion in 11 cities, all existing universities and several vocational schools, My career team realized 255 internships through the offices in Skopje and Regionall coordinators in Shtip, Tetovo, Prilep, Bitola and Strumica.
