Murray River Trails Information

Murray River Trails is a pioneering South Australian ecotourism company presenting a carefully crafted range of guided journeys that tell the story of a mighty river’s past, and project its bold innovative future. Proud Riverland locals and Murray River advocates, Tony and Susie Sharley founded the company in 2016, and it was originally known as ‘Murray River Walk’. A background in river management, wine tourism and eco-tourism created a determination to protect and sustain the area, and to diversify its regional economy following the ‘millennium drought’. This was matched by an unwavering passion to share the wildlife, landscapes, produce, history, culture, and stories of Australia’s greatest river. Today, Managing Director, Tony, and Marketing Director, Susie, assume hands-on management and guiding duties, alongside full time Operations Manager, Lauren Ward. Lauren, who has grown with the business since inception when she started as a guide, now oversees a team of 8 guides and 5 boat drivers. We are passionate about where we live, and our guides look forward to sharing our stories with you. We offer three guided river experiences - Murray River Walk, 3 night guided walk - Murray River Safari, 2 night guided wildlife adventure - Murray River Escapes, tailored houseboat itineraries
